PCR | PIR | PPWR reduces CO² footprint

Tallpack offers a wide range of sustainable (PCR / PIR / PPWR / Biobased) packaging solutions

Sustainability of plastic packaging is an important topic for Tallpack due to the need to minimize environmental footprint and provide responsible tertiary packaging solutions. While wrapping film is often the most effective and sustainable option for safely packaging goods, it remains crucial to reduce the amount of tertiary packaging materials or replace them with more sustainable materials with a lower carbon footprint.

Tallpack offers a wide range of sustainable alternatives, including high-quality thin (nano) wrapping films, biobased films and films with a recycled content (PCR = post-consumer recycled) for applications such as stretch covers and wrapping. The range also includes paper tape and recyclable plastic and steel strapping tape. The use of Grip Sheet anti-slip sheets also offers such a stability advantage that much less wrapping film is used. By offering these alternatives, Tallpack helps companies to make their packaging processes more environmentally friendly without sacrificing quality and efficiency, but significantly reduces the CO2 footprint.

We support customers in packaging their products with thinner films and in using films efficiently and accurately, which reduces consumption (less waste – both in volume and weight) and lowers the CO2 footprint. In addition, we advise on qualitatively comparable alternatives that consist of (partly) renewable raw materials (biobased) and compostable films when this offers advantages. New films with a share of recycled raw materials (PCR = post-consumer recycled) help to reduce the CO2 footprint and stimulate the market for collection of films.

Our packaging materials such as Tallstretch wrapping, top sheet and stretch cover film, Tallstrap strapping tape and Grip Sheet anti-slip sheets (FSC) already meet the PPWR targets for 2030:

  1. Our packaging materials are 100% recyclable and are already largely recycled into post-consumer waste in a functioning circular economy, from which new films are produced.
  2. Our products with 30 – 65% post-consumer recycled material show that it is possible to drastically reduce the carbon footprint while making transport more efficient across Europe. We already ensure minimal greenhouse gas emissions, because with a PCR content of 30%, the total CO2 footprint or PCF = Product Carbon Footprint of the product can be reduced by -20%.
